Have you heard the news? Wizard101 has confirmed their next world coming in the Fall Update: Polaris! It’s been some time since we’ve gotten a world that we’ve already heard about, so let’s take a look at what we know so far about Polaris and how it will affect what awaits our wizards. If you don’t play Pirate101, this information may be new to you – otherwise, take a look to refresh yourselves of this lore to be ready when Polaris comes to the Test Realm soon!
The Polarian War
This is a very important event in the Spiral’s history – a major war between the Spiral’s greatest powers led to the creation of the Clockwork Armada, and thereby Pirate101’s main story emerged. This is not to say that it won’t have an effect on Wizard101 too – the turnout of the war will, in fact, most likely set the stage for the journey that lies ahead for our wizards.
Before the war began, the penguins were at the bottom of the Polarian hierarchy, subject to the authority of the Walruses and Polar Bears. The Penguin Revolution, however, changed this – the rule of the Walrus Tzars was dissolved, and Napoleguin was established as the new Emperor. Of course, every Emperor needs an empire – and that’s what Napoleguin set out to create.
Napoleguin declared war on Valencia, Marleybone, and Monquista, and soon enough, the entire Spiral was plunged into chaos. Polaris was the strongest force in the entire Spiral, and it perhaps would have stayed that way if Valencia hadn’t turned the tide of the war with the creation of the Armada. With the aid of Marleybone, Napoleguin was defeated, though now Valencia was threatening the Spiral with its renegade army of Clockworks.
It’s Not Over Yet…
As the Polarian War came to a close, Napoleguin was sent off to Fort Elena in Skull Island – thanks to our pirates, however, he didn’t stay there for very long. The civil war in Monquista led to Gortez seeking to free this military genius, and together with Catbeard, they masterminded a plan to break Napoleguin out of Fort Elena. But after this mission was a success and the Monquistan war was won, Napoleguin still had his own agenda to carry out.
This is the last we see of Napoleguin in Pirate101, but his story is far from over. At this point in the storyline, Napoleguin is certainly ready to, or perhaps already has, embarked upon his return to Polaris, and this will no doubt shake up the world just in time for our wizards to see. Now, the question remains… how will this affect our wizards’ journey in Polaris?
So… we have an awesome storyline ahead of us. After the fall of Napoleguin, the Polar Bears, and presumably the Walrus Tzars, have claimed their power back. This will certainly not sit well with Napoleguin, who certainly would want to snatch the throne back for himself. So, when our Wizards arrive in Polaris, we may just see first-hand a battle between Napoleguin and, well… practically everyone else.
Maybe not quite everyone – we think that our wizards may actually help Napoleguin. This may be a bit of a stretch, but we can tell that the Walruses and Polar Bears aren’t exactly the nicest rulers. Under the authority of Empress Autuskette, which certainly sounds like the name of a Walrus, we are reminded to abide by the “Imperial Law” – and we doubt the Penguins appreciate it.

Taking a look around, we see a Penguin polishing the boot of a Polar Bear guard, while other guards are firmly stationed throughout the city. There are a few Penguins who are not suffering as much as the others – given the title of Inspectors – but we soon learn that they are only contributing to the turmoil. The innkeeper, for instance, tells us that the Inspectors were “roughing up some innocent Pinguoins” – and that someone who tried to stop it was send to the Basstille prison.
Theorycrafting and Predictions
It’s safe to say there are more than a few reasons for our wizards being swayed to Napoleguin’s side. Trying to make Polaris a better place is, indeed, not too much different from what we’ve always been doing – protecting the Spiral from evil and injustice. However, we know from past events that Napoleguin may not necessarily be the most kindhearted and trustworthy person… our wizards may be in for more than we expect.
Of course, we can’t forget how this is the beginning of a new arc in Wizard101. Although we may be fighting against tyranny and oppression in Polaris, this is just one world out of plenty more to come – there’s certainly something bigger that we’ve yet to find out about, and Polaris may just be our first clue to uncovering it.
Yet in the end, we were sent postcards to go on a visit to Polaris, and that’s what our wizards will do. Sure, this visit may involve allying with a military genius, waging war against the Polarian Crown, breaking into the Basstille to free wrongly accused Penguins, and toppling the existing hierarchy of the world… but that’s just an average vacation for our wizards, right?
Remember that these are just theories based on the limited information that we know – Wizard101 has been known to surprise us with completely unexpected twists and turns… but that will only make it all the more exciting! What do you think awaits us in Polaris? Let us know in the comments!
Polaris will be coming to the Wizard101 Test Realm soon – with the teasers that have been released over Wizard101’s social media pages, we’re expecting it as early as next week! Enjoy your adventure in this new world, wizards, and remember to dress warmly. The next sunrise in Polaris isn’t coming for a few months.
